During the 1994 World Cup in the United States, the Argentina team's kits did not appear to bring them any luck. Maradona was only able to participate in two games before being sent home due to a failed drug test for ephedrine doping. Argentina were later eliminated in the Round of 16 against Romania. The Argentina 1994 retro kit features the same design as the shirt from 30 years ago, with some subtle extra detailing and, apparently, a brighter blue colour. It now has an all-over AFA print and an authentic badge at the lower right. Like the shirt from 1994, the Adidas Argentina 1994-2024 remake kit has a classic Polo collar with a thin white line.
